Instructions
(A) Admission to the Singapore Bar
 Please note that you should not apply for an exemption for the purposes of registration with Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations pending the results of your class of honours or ranking.
The requirement to be a Singapore citizen or Singapore permanent resident
The requirement to have been conferred your law degree by a university specified in the Schedules to the Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules
The requirement to have been conferred a law degree specified in the Schedules
The requirement to have read the course leading to your law degree as a full-time internal candidate of the university that conferred the degree
External Degree
Twinning programme (that is not an "approved twinning programme")
The restriction against accelerated courses (i.e. a course of study that is commenced and completed within a period of less than 3 academic years)
The restriction against dual degrees
The restriction against combined degrees
The requirement to have attained at least Lower Second Class Honours (for universities in the United Kingdom) or to have been ranked within the top 70% of your batch (for universities in Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America)*
The requirement to obtain 6 months of "relevant legal training" and/or "relevant legal practice or work" within a continuous period of 8 months
The requirement to pass Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations
The requirement to attend the Part B Course
The requirement to pass Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations
The requirement to serve the applicable practice training period
The requirement to complete the practice training contract within a continuous period of 8 months

(B) FPE or the FPE Eligibility Criteria
The requirement to sit for and pass the FPE
Rule 4(3)(b): The requirement that you have attained 21 years of age
Rule 4(3)(c): The requirement that you are not the subject of any disciplinary proceedings as a solicitor or foreign lawyer in Singapore or elsewhere and you were not previously disciplined for any disciplinary offence
Rule 4(3)(d): The requirement that you are not a party to any criminal or civil proceedings that may lead to disciplinary proceedings being taken against you as a solicitor or foreign lawyer in Singapore or elsewhere
Rule 4(3)(e): The requirement that you are not, as a result of any criminal or civil proceedings against you in Singapore or elsewhere, prohibited from practising law in Singapore or elsewhere or subject to any special conditions in the practice of law
Rule 4(3)(f): The requirement that you have, after becoming a lawyer, been engaged in relevant legal practice or work, in Singapore or elsewhere, in one or more of the permitted areas of legal practice in any foreign law, for at least 3 years in the 5 years immediately preceding the date on which the application is made
Rule 4(3)(g): The requirement that you are practising in Singapore as a foreign lawyer in a Joint Law Venture, Qualifying Foreign Law Practice, licensed foreign law practice or Singapore law practice, or have received a job offer to practise Singapore law practice, or have received a job offer to practise in Singapore as a foreign lawyer in a Joint Law Venture, Qualifying Foreign Law Practice, licensed foreign law practice or Singapore law practice (being a job offer which may, but need not, be contingent on you passing the Examinations)
